NXP Semiconductors was founded in 2006, formerly known as the Semiconductor Division of Philips in 1953, headquartered in Eindhoven, Netherlands. NXP was listed on NASDAQ in the United States in 2010. In 2015, NXP acquired Freescale Semiconductor, founded by Motorola, becoming one of the top ten non storage semiconductor companies in the world and the world's largest automotive semiconductor supplier.
